The last part sets the stage for a legacy which will be reflected and pondered on for generations, if not centuries. It’s as much our story as Church as it is the life of Pope John Paul II. Don’t miss this one…it is essential reading!!!

Talking with Gregory Erlandson was a great opportunity to realize the nuisances of what got us here, but also the response and hope that leads us to the future.

I LOVE biographies, so when this one came along I was delighted. A memoir from a man who experienced the 20th century in all it’s ugly moments and also in it’s beauty…Archbishop Philip Hannan. From Irish immigrant parents, to WWII, to the Kennedy White House, to Hurricane Katrina…what a story. Wonderful! I talked with Nancy Collins, 2nd cousin of the Archbishop, who assisted him in writing his memoir. Nancy is an engaging personality in her own right, and that really comes through in our conversation! She reflects on the Archbishop’s life and contribution to our country and times…praise God the greatest generation is still with us to teach and guide!
A marvelous work that takes all the grand imagery of the Book of Revelation and brings it into our aching hearts today. Fr. Richard Veras allows the symbols of Revelation to stand as the inspired work of God and helps us to see the why, as well the when of it’s message. Many readers will be familiar with Fr. Veras as a frequent contributor to Magnifcat magazine. With this new work, those readers, as well as new ones, will not be disappointed.
Mary Eberstadt’s “The Loser Letters” is not your typical apologetic book, and that’s it’s beauty. Intelligent, funny, and so very thoughtful…that’s a great combination. This book is a pro-religious satire of atheism, told from the point of view of a worldly and troubled twenty-something girl. Fans of C. S. Lewis will love this modern day Christian approach to the new atheist. Mary Eberstadt is fantastic…we can definitely look forward to more from her.
Gary Jansen’s book is a great way to help any and all who are seeking to “Exercise” their soul. As Fr. James Martin has said, “Jansen offers straightforward advice on how to begin, or deepen, your relationship with the One who loved us into being”. I couldn’t agree more…let the workout begin!

In ” A Priest Forever: Nine Signs of Renewal and Hope”, Father McBride brings forward not only his master catechetical skills, but his deep love for the vocation he has lived all these many years. Though crisis may be rocking the Church with the current priest abuse scandals in other parts of the world, Fr.
