Fr. Timothy Gallagher – Praying with Scripture: Christian Contemplation and Meditation in the Ignatian tradition

Praying with Scripture: Christian Contemplation and Meditation
with Fr. Timothy Gallagher

a 7 Episode Podcast Series

Ignatian meditation and contemplation

Prayer is the place where we encounter God. In this series, Fr. Timothy Gallagher explains Ignatian meditation and contemplation, two forms of prayer that help us listen to Scripture, engage our hearts, and meet the Lord in a personal way.

Drawing from St. Ignatius’ Spiritual Exercises, Fr. Gallagher offers clear teaching on how to meditate with Scripture and enter contemplative prayer. This series is a practical guide for Catholics who desire a deeper life of prayer and a living encounter with Christ through the Word of God.

Fr. Gallagher obtained his doctorate in 1983 from the Gregorian University. He has taught (St. John’s Seminary, Brighton, MA; Our Lady of Grace Seminary Residence, Boston, MA), assisted in formation work for twelve years, and served two terms as provincial in his own community. He has dedicated many years to an extensive ministry of retreats, spiritual direction, and teaching about the spiritual life. Fr. Gallagher is the author of six books (Crossroad) on the spiritual teaching of St. Ignatius of Loyola.
